Outlook for Salesforce Lightning is a great tool when it comes to having your information on the go and readily available for consumption. But sometimes there is a long sync delay between Salesforce and Outlook that could cause potential issues if you make excess changes to the calendar in a short period. However, there are ways to shorten the sync time between the two applications and I will show you one today.
Note: This option is only possible if you have access to “Salesforce for Outlook” option in Salesforce rather than “Lightning for Outlook.”
Locate Salesforce for Outlook in Setup, and download the latest version of “Salesforce for Outlook.”
Before you start the installation, be sure to close Outlook and follow the instructions provided by the install file. After the installation is finished, open Outlook then click on the “Salesforce for Outlook” icon in your system tray.
From here you are given the ability to “Sync Now” allowing your system to have the most up to date information from both Outlook and Salesforce on your calendars!
