Want to shave the eyebrows off one of our employees? Join us on March 28th, 2015 to support St. Baldrick’s, a volunteer-driven charity that funds research to find cures for childhood cancers and provide support for survivors to live long healthy lives. Come enjoy a pint and you will see not one, but five of our employees get mohawks, fashion the Dr. Phil cut or any number of crazy shaving tactics until finally they are bald!
The event will be held at:
Trinity Hall –Irish Pub & Restaurant
5321 E. Mockingbird Lane
Ascendix employees and JLL’s Chad Lindsey are part of the longtime team Smooth Operators. They have each pledged to raise a certain amount and will also be raising money at the event by bartering with the crowd. Here are some of the teams “before” headshots. Why has Ascendix participated for so many years with St. Baldrick’s? Simple. More children are lost to cancer in the US than any other disease combined. 1 in 285 children will have childhood cancer. Worldwide a child is diagnosed with cancer every 3 minutes. Additionally, this group provides funding to support survivors who experience long-term side effects from the intense treatments used to combat the disease. A recent study shows that because of the treatments they had as kids, by the time they’re 45, more than 95% of survivors will have a chronic health problem and 80% will have severe or life-threatening conditions. Since St. Baldrick’s is volunteer-based a majority of the financial donations go directly to research vs. administration fees.
