Last week, seven Ascendix employees volunteered in a food drive for the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). The NTFB is a local hunger relief organization based in Dallas, and it is the largest charity in North Texas. It’s no surprise how big of an impact the NTFB has on hungry children, seniors, and families.
The Ascendix team members got to be a part of this impact on the community for their first time. The team put in their effort by preparing boxes with packaged foods, snacks, and drinks – each box weighing 15 lbs. The food drive was able to prepare 11 pallets with 6,000 meals, weighing a total of 7,200 lbs!
Martha Cruce, who organized the volunteer event for the team, expressed how much she and her co-workers enjoyed helping out. The most joy came at the end of their shift when they found out how many meals they were able to prepare during their 2 hour shift.
The hard work at the food drive helped the community and brought the team closer together. Martha stated that they would definitely love to do this again.
